- 'Legislation to include pets in protective orders fails (Provo Daily Herald)
An attempt to allow courts to include pets in protective orders failed on the Senate floor Monday. Legislators defeated House Bill 342, sponsored by Rep. Scott Wyatt, R-Logan, on an 11-15 vote. HB 342 would have allowed protective orders to give custody of pets to those who file for protection, and to prevent those who have orders filed against them from going near pets.
