- 'Residents Show Off Pets to Festival Crowd (The Inter-Mountain)
Big, small, furry or scaley. If you fit one of these categories, or love someone that does, then last night was your night. Animals and animal lovers from all over the region brought their favorite pets to the Elkins High School gymnasium to compete in the Mountain State Forest Festival Pet Show on Monday night.

- 'People Dumping Live Pets at Tooele Landfill (FOX 13 Utah)
People are dumping their unwanted pets like garbage at the Tooele County landfill. Cats are most commonly found at the site, but last week a rooster was left to wander the area. Landfill office manager Rayda Tegen says people who think the cats will be fine by feasting on garbage have it wrong. Instead, the animals can get sick or be crushed by large equipment.

St. Patrick's School in Oneida will hold a blessing of the animals prayer service at 1:45 p.m. Friday at the school's backyard on Elizabeth Street. First-grade students will lead the prayer service. The public is invited to bring pets. All animals must be well behaved and on a leash.
