Gerbil Care

   Gerbils have become a favorite pet nowadays. Available in several different colors, gerbils are very social animals and generally do not bite. They can be very entertaining pets for both adults and kids in your family.

   You should provide food and water for your gerbil so that he/she has enough to eat or drink whenever they want.

   When choosing food, buy a good quality fruit or seed since gerbil eat less, their food should be nutritious.

   You should clean your pets cage at least once every two weeks. Unclean pets may bring diseases, so keep the cage clean to help promote good health.

   You need to provide your gerbil with toys to help him from being bored. Toys also provide your pet with something to climb and gnaw which helps prevent teeth and nails from overgrowing.

   Do not expose your gerbil to excessive light. Gerbils prefer a place where they can hide and sleep where they feel secure.

   It is important to spend time playing and handling your gerbil so that he/she feels comfortable with you.
