Your fish may contract a bacterial infection. Symptoms include holes or tears in the fins, red and raised skin,
sores over the entire body, clouded eyes and slower than normal movement. Bacterial infections can be treated by adding an antibiotic
solution to your tank.
Another common condition is parasites. Symptoms include sluggish movement, constant rubbing against the edge of
the tank, red or raised skin, white patches, or anything growing or attached to your fish. The most common cause of parasites in an
overstocked tank.
Sluggishness is a common symptom of almost every condition your fish my contact. If your fish displays symptoms not
described above, the condition of your water may be the cause. Test your water and treat accordingly. Many pet shops will test your water
for you if you do not have a test kit
